About the BC PNP

Introduction

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program is a program designed to accelerate the Permanent Resident application for business professionals, skilled workers, and their families who are looking to live in British Columbia. Applicants can apply for Permanent Resident status through Citizenship and Immigration Canada under a fast tracked stream. The BC PNP is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). To apply to the BC PNP, whether you’re applying under the business or skilled worker class, you’ll have to meet a number of requirements. Skilled Workers (Strategic Occupations)

The Strategic Occupations part of the Provincial Nominee Program is intended to help employers in BC retain or recruit skilled and qualified foreign workers. To qualify as a Skilled Worker under the BC PNP one must have a job offer of an indeterminate length from an employer in BC, or a masters or doctorate degree from a BC post-secondary institution in the health, natural, or applied sciences. Business Immigrants

The purpose of the Business Immigrants section of the BC PNP is to encourage business investment in British Columbia. There are three categories of Business Immigrants: Business Skills, Regional Business, and Strategic Projects. Each category has different requirements for minimum investment, geographic location, number of Canadian employees, and minimum personal net worth.
